How Vela is meant to work.

Describe software. Vela keeps the idea, creates a project you own, and builds it as real files.

1. 01

   Describe

   Start from the homepage composer. Enter sends. Shift+Enter inserts a new line. Suggestion chips fill the prompt.

2. 02

   Keep the idea

   If you are signed out, Vela stores the prompt on this device, opens sign-in, and creates the project after you have an account.

3. 03

   Build

   Cursor writes a complete Vite + React TypeScript app into your workspace, then Vela installs, builds, and starts a local preview.

4. 04

   Studio

   The builder has agent chat, a file tree, Monaco, and a live iframe. Follow-up messages edit the same files — there is no stub fallback.

5. 05

   Dashboard

   /dashboard is the studio: usage, recent runs, search, rename, duplicate, export, publish, and open. /dashboard/usage shows the 14-day chart. Billing is not connected.

6. 06

   Settings

   /settings updates your name and password, and can delete the account. Google and GitHub sign-in work when those keys are set.

7. 07

   Studio tools

   Export a zip, restore a checkpoint, store project secrets, and publish a project to /community. Mention @path/to/file in chat to attach it.

   Templates

   Templates create a project from a prepared brief and start the same Cursor build as a custom prompt.
